All by Myself by Aliki

Review: Follow a young boy as he wakes, completes tasks, chores, and school activities all on his own.

Opinion:  The illustrations are perfect for young readers. They are detailed and focused and complement the text in a clear and concise manner. Young readers will be able to follow along as the book is read. This book is especially good for toddlers learning new skills as they will be able to identify with tasks they have mastered and with those they want to do in the future.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider by Iza Trapani

Review: Vivid and detailed illustrations take the reader on the spider's fun and challenging journey through the outside garden.

Opinion: This is a toddler favorite and even the musically challenged can sing the words to baby.  The illustrations match the words well and allow toddlers to become part of the story. It is a fun read for grown-ups but be prepared to sing "itsy bitsy" many, many times!
